The Iranian Electric Industry Journal of Quality and Productivity (IEIJQP) considers plagiarism and inappropriate reuse of scholarly material to be serious violations of publication ethics.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes presenting another person's words, ideas, data, results, figures, tables, or other intellectual contributions as one's own without appropriate acknowledgement.
Plagiarism may include:
•    direct copying of text without appropriate citation;
•    substantial copying from another publication;
•    inappropriate paraphrasing without attribution;
•    unauthorized reuse of figures, tables, or other material;
•    presenting another person's ideas or findings as original; and
•    inappropriate reuse of an author's own previously published material.
Similarity Checking
Submitted manuscripts may be screened using an appropriate plagiarism or similarity-detection service as part of the journal's editorial quality-control process.
IEIJQP uses the IranDoc similarity-checking service or another appropriate similarity-detection mechanism when required.
A similarity percentage alone does not automatically establish plagiarism. The Editorial Office evaluates the nature, source, extent, and context of the identified similarities.
Before Publication
If significant plagiarism or inappropriate text reuse is identified before publication, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for clarification, subjected to further investigation, or rejected.
After Publication
If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal may investigate the case and take appropriate action.
Depending on the seriousness of the case, actions may include:
•    requesting an explanation from the authors;
•    issuing a correction;
•    publishing an editorial notice;
•    retracting the article; or
•    taking other appropriate action to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
Self-Plagiarism and Redundant Publication
Authors must disclose substantial overlap between the submitted manuscript and their previous publications.
Reusing substantial portions of previously published material without appropriate citation or disclosure may be considered redundant publication or self-plagiarism.
Authors' Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all sources are appropriately cited.
The use of similarity-detection software does not remove the authors' responsibility for maintaining academic and publication integrity.
Fair Assessment
Legitimate similarities may occur in technical terminology, standard expressions, methodological descriptions, references, and other unavoidable parts of scholarly writing.
Therefore, similarity reports are evaluated by qualified editorial personnel rather than by applying an automatic similarity threshold alone.
